Apoapsis Records is an independent artist record label located in sunny Greece that started up in mid 2009.
It was founded by Vasileios Angelis (Woodcraft) and Apostolos Angelis (2A) in order to release their own music creations.
In this dark period of planked arts, the label "unchains" music which is based in the freedom of expression and creativity.
"The humankind crisis is the inevitable result of the cultural crisis."
Since Apoapsis Records is actually an artist record label (with 2A and Woodcraft as the only artists), our number of releases is limited (we release one or two full length albums per year). We don't follow any rules, guidelines or deadlines; we work within absolute freedom of expression and creativity. And we won't release anything if we're not totally satisfied by the result, from the composition-arrangement-orchestration-performance to the studio recording quality-mixing engineering-dynamic mastering and final production for a complete listening experience.
Apoapsis Records was the first label worldwide that actively joined and supported the DR movement (Pleasurize Music non-profit Organization founded in 2009) for an end of the loudness war; the organization aims in improving the sound quality of music in its various recorded formats, increasing the value of sound within the creative production process for the entire music industry (industry? what industry?).

Many people ask what does the name and logo of Apoapsis Records really mean. Here's a brief explanation:
Apoapsis is an astronomical term, a Greek word: An apsis (Greek apsis) is the point of greatest or least distance of a body from one of the foci of its elliptical orbit. The point of farthest excursion is called the Apoapsis (Greek apó, "from"). It's actually the point in an orbit farthest from the body being orbited.
"Sometimes it's vital to zoom out and see things from a different perspective, the best perspective: the spherical view".

Apostolos Angelis , is an autodidact Greek music composer, mixing engineer and producer of electronic, classical, orchestral, progressive, ambient and ethnic music under the name of 2A (the initial letters of his first and second name). He was born in 26 August 1983 in Trikala, a small city in Thessaly Greece near the famous rocky resort of Meteora, where he lived his school years. At the age of 14 he started being interested in sound and music composition after he found some old vinyl and cassettes at his uncle’s house, containing classical music and soundtracks of legendary spaghetti westerns. At the same year he started composing and producing music uninterruptedly with computer programmes which was based in small sound samples. It is noticeable to be mentioned, that he refused to take or learn music theory finding this restrictive and he learned about composition and production techniques by hearing. That’s the reason that most of his later music is being composed, arranged and orchestrated when he was not in a studio or isolated in a desk, but in daily ordinary situations. It became his way of creating, without to keep extended notes or spending long hours in studio experimentations, but just performing and recording his ideas. Until today, he doesn’t know music notation.
After school Apostolos moved to Thessaloniki, Greece in 2001, where he studied Forestry and Natural Environment Engineering at Aristotle University. During these years, he continued composing, orchestrating, arranging, performing and producing music and in 2007 started conceiving and creating his debut album Hologram which was a fusion of electronic and new age music. Many demo tracks of the album were sent to record labels worldwide, but nobody could take the risk to release this kind of music. In 2009 Apostolos and his brother Vasileios (being also a music composer and producer) launched the independent record label Apoapsis Records in order to release their own material. The album Hologram was released in October of 2009 by Apoapsis Records. At the same year, Apostolos joins the DR (Dynamic Range) music movement which was supporting that dynamics are essential to music expression and enjoyment.
The next 2A work came two years later with the single Band Of The Robots/The Mirror which was released in August 2011 by Apoapsis Records in digital format. This time he worked with a completely different approach in composition, orchestration and production, as he started to embody a wider range of musical genres, sounds and cultures. His work now has a heavenly touch, becomes complex, detailed and rich in sound, based most in electronic and classical music. Ten days later a second release with two tracks comes out with the title March To Heaven/Cosmic Waltz . It was in the same concept as his previous single with the rich compositions and orchestrations to dominate again. In February 2012, the album Prophecy Of Heavens was released containing the four tracks from the two previous singles and seven more original compositions. The whole album concept is a mix of white and dark colors deriving inspiration from Electronic, Ancient Greek and Classical music. At this time 2A continues to work on new projects and ideas and an EP is expected to come out in the near future.
Vasileios Angelis , known as Woodcraft , is a music composer, mixing engineer and producer of an electronic/ethnic/orchestral/instrumental music genre that he prefers to describe as organic electronica. Vasileios affiliated with music and sounds from the school age and devoted many years exploring and creating music.
He was born in the city of Trikala, Greece and after finishing high-school he studied Forestry and Natural Environment Engineering at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. During these years and after graduation, Woodcraft was always dealing with music; experimenting with composition, mixing engineering, synthesizers, samplers, various instruments and all sorts of software systems and tools. Inspired by nature, ancient datum, modern way of life, and his belief that music can contain elementary truths, Vasileios refused to take formal music lessons, feeling that the creation of music cannot be taught; it already exists within everyone.
At the end of 2009, together with his brother Apostolos, he starts the independent record label Apoapsis Records.
Woodcraft 's recording career begins with the album Amalgama , been released in 2010 by Apoapsis Records and distributed worldwide in both digital and physical formats.

Almost 2 years after his debut album “Hologram”, 2A presents the single “BAND OF THE ROBOTS/THE MIRROR ” with a completely different approach in composition, orchestration and the overall sound. This new work can be characterized as a fusion of Heavenly Electronic and Contemporary Classical music. 2A creates a monumental and rich sound, as he dabbles with fresh washes of electronic instruments and effects, Balkan sounds, choral, strings, wind instrument sections and drum machines blended with orchestral and ethnic percussion.
The whole creation took place in 2A ’'s private studio in Greece, residing near the famous rocky resort of Meteora which was a main inspirational subject of the music. The production process was an extremely difficult and complex attempt and the artist wallowed four months in the studio composing, arranging, orchestrating, performing, recording, programming, mixing frequencies and experimenting with new composition techniques. The single was mastered by the Grammy award winner Ray Staff at Air Studios in London.

2A presents the new single MARCH TO HEAVEN/COSMIC WALTZ which is a vivid consecution of his previous single Band Of The Robots/The Mirror. This work is a unique mixture of Heavenly Electronic and Contemporary Classical music with the massy and extremely rich sound to dominate again.
The creator is dabbling with innovative electronic instruments and multilayered sounds, choral, string, Balkan sounds, wind instruments, experimental effects and drum machines blended with orchestral and African percussion. 2A worked in his private studio in Trikala-Greece and the production process took about four months to complete, finishing the previous single and this one at the same time. The artist did again almost everything being the composer, orchestrator, arranger, programmer, performer, mixing engineer and producer. The tracks were mastered by the Grammy award winner Ray Staff at Air Studios in London.

A few months after the two singles BAND OF THE ROBOTS / THE MIRROR and MARCH TO HEAVEN / COSMIC WALTZ, 2A presents his bountiful 43 minute work PROPHECY OF HEAVENS , which marks the beginning of his new musical horizon and era. This new work can be characterized as a fusion of Contemporary Classic and Electronic music . The composer fantasizes and creates a monumental and rich sound, as he dabbles with electronic instruments, male and female choirs, virtual vocals, bulky strings, wind instrument sections, sound effects and drum machines blended with orchestral and ethnic percussion.
Apostolos Angelis [2A] , worked in his peaceful private studio in Trikala-Greece and the production process took about one and a half year to complete. It was an extremely difficult and complex attempt: " The most sounds that I used are coming from electronic devices, but I wanted everything to sound as natural and delicate as a visional classical orchestra" . The artist did again almost everything being the composer, orchestrator, arranger, performer, programmer, mixing engineer and producer. The tracks were mastered by the Grammy award winner Ray Staff at Air Studios in London.
